3. MICRO HYDEL PROJECTS
To exploit small Hydro potential available at various falls in the Canals running in Punjab State , four Micro Hydel Projects have already been commissioned at Rohti, Thuhi, Daudhar & Nidampur.The detail of Micro Power Houses is given as under:

- Nidampur Power House is situated on Ghaggar branch Canal near Village Nidampur on Patiala-Sangrur Highway .
- Daudhar Power House is situated at Ajitwal-Badnikalan rural link road on Abohar branch Canal near Moga town.
- Rohti Power House is situated on Patiala-Nabha road at a distance of 19 KMs from Patiala on Ghaggar link Canal.
- Thuhi Power House is situated on Ghaggar branch Canal near village Thuhi at the distance from 4 KMs from Nabha Town.

The Operation & Mtc. of all the four Micro Power Houses was handed over to M/S DSL Powers (P) Ltd., Ludhiana on lease basis for 10 (ten) years w.e.f. 11.07.05. The firm failed to restore generation in Rohti Power House , Thuhi Power House was operated upto 30.11.2008 , Nidampur and Daudhar Power Houses were operated upto 31.5.2010. Due to various violations on the part of contractor, BODs of PSPCL in its 10th meeting held on 13.4.2011, decided to terminate the O&M Contract Agreement no. 47 dt. 27.5.2004 signed with M/s DSL Powers, Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana Accordingly the contract of the firm stood terminated and the projects were lying un-operational because the firm refused to hand over the micro power houses back to PSPCL as per provisions of the contract, however all the projects were taken back from the contractor. M/s PEDA showed its interest to take over these power houses. PSPCL decided to transfer these Power Houses to M/s PEDA at Market value of land of power houses + book value of Plant & Machinery of power houses whereas PEDA was interested to take over these power houses on collector value of land of power houses + book value of Plant & Machinery of power houses. Due to difference of opinion, ultimately the proposal was dropped. There after it was proposed to out-source these power houses to private contractor on 20 years lease basis at well defined PPA. CE/CD&C was entrusted to float tenders for out sourcing these power houses. TE No. ASE-1/MHPs/ROT/2015-16/01 was floated by SE/Civil hydel Design PSPCL, Chandigarh for leasing of all four No. Micro Hydel Projects. Price bids were opened on 29.04.2017. No bidder submitted bid for Rohti Power House on the plea of non availability of sufficient water discharge for Generation. After completing formalities, Lease Agreement for Thuhi, Nidampur and Daudhar were signed by Civil organization of PSPCL for transfer of these Micro Hydel Project to M/s Kotla Renewables Pvt. Ltd. “as is where is basis” on dated 21, 22 & 23.12.2016 respectively. Daudhar, Nidampur and Thuhi Micro Hydel Projects were re-commissioned in July-2018, Oct.-2018 & Aug.-2019 respectively. Office of CE/CD&C has floated TE No. Sr.Xen -I/MHP Rohti/ROT/2020-21/03 for out sourcing Rohti power house on ROT basis.
