Recently two cases have been reported in various newspapers, one is regarding Junior Engineer (JE) of PSPCL posted at Subdivision Rural Malout being nabbed red handed by State Vigilance Bureau and other is regarding allegation against SDO & JE posted at Sub Division Lubania Wali, PSPCL of taking bribe for installation of transformers at AP Connections.
Taking a serious note of cases of corruption by some officials and officers of PSPCL for replacement of damaged transformers, release of connections etc, PSPCL management has decided to act tough not only against delinquent officials but also against Controlling officers whose subordinate is found indulging in corruption. Er.Baldev Singh Sran CMD PSPCL would himself hold open meetings with Farmers, Industrialists and General Consumers at Zonal and Circle Headquarters to get direct feedback from them. Earlier CMD had through a written communication (DO letter) asked CEs, SEs and Addl.SE / Sr. Xens and all other officers to not only maintain high standards of integrity personally but also ensure that all team members do that and had forewarned that senior officers would also be accountable for misdemeanour by their juniors if they fail to check and report such a practice.
Er.Baldev Singh Sran added that PSPCL will not tolerate any kind of corruption at any level. In case any subordinate is caught red handed by Punjab vigilance or any inquiry then his immediate subordinate and next higher authority will be called upon to explain why action was not taken by them against official indulging in corruption Some selected cases shall be got investigated from Enforcement and Technical audit on same day and action shall be taken if corruption case is established. He said that in both recent cases at Muktsar & Lubaniawali Technical Audit has been asked to conduct enquiry and send report. Er. Sran also said that detailed and in depth investigation of the complaint will be made in due course of time and if any senior officer is found involved, then he would also be not spared.
He said that consumers and others facing any unscrupulous demands/ practices can directly contact him and the matter would be thoroughly got investigated to punish the unscrupulous elements.
