To curb menace of theft of electricity, PSPCL is conducting raids in the state and achieving success. Spokesman of PSPCL disclosed that 7 teams of Enforcement Patiala circle of PSPCL checked the premises of 161 consumers of Kharar and Mohali areas here .Spokesman said that total penalty of Rs 31.15 Lacs have been imposed on 21 nos consumers on account of theft of electricity. PSPCL has appealed to all citizens/its consumers to help corporation in controlling the menace of theft of electricity by providing information about theft of power for campaign against theft of electricity in the state. Consumers/informers can also inform about theft of electricity on Whatsapp no 96461-75770. PSPCL assured its consumers that their identity will not be disclosed. Spokesman further informed that an awareness campaign has been launched through Radio Jingles, Social media and press releases to call upon public at large to come forward to help curb the menace of power theft . Advertisements have been issued by PSPCL to circulate special numbers so that consumers / informers can inform about power theft.
