PSPCL committed to provide quality supply to its consumers: Er. DPS Grewal director distribution held meeting with Industrial Unions

To know about the problems of Industrialists Er. DPS Grewal, Director Distribution PSPCL took a meeting with industrialists here today. He heard their grievances and assured them to resolve their problems at the earliest possible. S. Gursharan Singh, President Jalandhar Traders Association brought the staff shortage issue, Sh. Vijay Talwar raised the issue of overload Focal Point Grid to which Director assured that this Grid will be completed at the earliest and dedicated to the Consumers for further upliftment of the Industry. Sh. Parmod Chopra also raises the staff shortage issue with the Director. Along with these industrialists Sh. Vikrant Sharma, Sh. Ashok Maggu, S. Suba Singh and Sh. Bhim Sain Jalota were also present. The meeting was held in a very co-ordinal atmosphere and industrials were satisfied that they have been heard patiently and their problems will be resolved as per assurance of Director Distribution.

Apart from the Industrialist meeting mass raids to curb the menace of power theft was organized in the city, the officers of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) conducted massive raids at different locations in and around the Jalandhar City, here today.

Er. DPS Grewal informed that 2321 connections were checked by 47 teams and found 214 consumers under different lapses. of which 81 were found under Direct Theft and fine of Rs 29.12 Lac, 27 consumer were found on account of Theft of Meter Tempered and an amount of 8.92 Lac was imposed, 41 consumers were found to meter were defective and a fine of 1.15 lac was imposed on them, 60 consumers were found under UE category amount of 1.45 lac were imposed on them and in another category of UUE 5 consumer were fined 0.85 Lac as such amount of 41.49 Lac were imposed.

CMD PSPCL Sh. A. Venu Prasad said that the PSPCL will continue to conduct the systemic raids in the near future to curb the menace of power theft in the city and to ensure that residents are free from glitches of such unscrupulous practices. He appealed that consumers have to help PSPCL in controlling the menace of power theft.

He added that in case of any complaint regarding power supply consumers can get their complaints registered on our helpline number 1912. “If the line is busy, the consumers can SMS to 1912 and their complaint will get automatically registered and they will receive a reply from the office,” he said.

Chief Engineer Er. Jainender Dania who was also present at the spot ensured the uninterrupted power supply to the consumers and said that the staff will follow the directions of the management and will come up to their expectations.
