Sh.Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa Rural Development & Panchayats Minister Punjab Govt. and Er.Baldev Singh Sran CMD PSPCL disclosed that due to the timely instructions to PSPCL distribution officers to switch off power supply to fields/resident areas of villages/ towns and cities during heavy rains and floods, no case of electrocution of human being or animal has taken place in the State.
While addressing joint press conference, Sh.Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that they will visit the flood effected areas under Ropar, Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts and submit a detailed report to the Chief Minister Punjab about the losses during floods.
Sh.Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Er.Baldev Singh Sran ,Er.N.K.Sharma Director Distriubution , Er Sajeev Kumar Chief Engineer Operation North,Er.Gopal Sharma Engineer in Chief Enforecement along with seniors officers of the PSPCL accompany the high level delegation in the different flood effected areas.
Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that what so ever be loss to electrical infrastructure due to floods that has occured like in case where the electricity meter of the cosumer or damage to the wires , poles or transformer has taken place, PSPCL will bear all expenses.
CMD said that the supply of 16 nos villages Janian ,Mehrajwal,Janian Chahal,Kotha,Mundi Kallu,Mundi, Chohalian,Mundi Shehrian,Gata Mundi Kasu,Chak Wadala,Mandala, Channa,Naseerpur,Sardarwala,Theh Kushalgarh,Dhaka Basti and Pind Nallu Dera under Shahkot and Lohian in Jalandhar Distt. distribution division in city Nakodar has been disconnected.He said that power supply of approx. 1100 consumers of these villages was afffected. He further said that supply of another 9 no villages Nawan Pind Khanewal, Gati Raipur, Gati Peer Baksh, Kamalpur,Jakopur kalan, KakaarKalan, Fatehpur, Kang Khurd and Jalalpur villages was also affected which have approx.1950 consumers.The supply to all these villages was restored on August 23,2019
He added that supply of 3 nos villages Mand inderpur, Jamaliwal and Mannu Machi under Sultanpur Lodhi Area Distt. Kapurthala affected due to floods. After visiting the flood effected areas near Lohian and Sultanpur Lodhi Er. Sran added that another 20 to 25 nos. Farmhouses of Be-Chirag villages Kutabpur, Ramgarhdaleli, Andrisa, Mand Abdrisa, Fatewal, bakaarke are submerged in water and without electric supply. Approx. 275 . no of connections in these areas are under preventive Shutdown due to floods and supply of submerged 3 no. villages and farm houses detailed above has been disconnected by Operation of GO switch on 11 KV Sherpur feeder emanating from 66KV Bhago Budha sub station.
CMD further said that in Ropar circle under South zone power supply of only 1no. Village Harsabella in Noorpur bedi block is off, which was evacuated and supply of the village Harsabella will be restored immediately on demand once water level decreases.
