SUBJECT: COMPULSORY WEEKLY OFF-DAY ON INDUSTRIES – PENALITIES FOR NON COMPLIANCE OF INSTRUCTIONS.

In continuation to this office P.R.Circular No. 07/2004 circulated vide Memo No. 2922/3143 dated 05.07.2004 and in confirmation to this office Fax No. 3223/28 dated 16.07.2004, addressed to all CEs/Operation, on the above subject.

Clarifications are being sought from the field that as to what should be the penalty on those consumers where Electronic Meters have been installed but do not have the down loading facility. The matter has been considered and it has been decided as under:-

“Electronic Energy Meters without down loading facility be treated at par with the Electro Mechanical Meters for the purpose of computation of penalty on account of violation in observing Compulsory Weekly Off-days and shall be governed as per Para (b) of P.R.Circular No. 07/2004.”

It is requested that necessary action may be taken accordingly.
