66 KV Sub Station Thapar will be dedicated to the people of Patiala in a week’s time: Er. Baldev Singh Sran CMD

Er. Baldev Singh Sran CMD,PSPCL today visited the 66 KV Sub Station Thapur University Patiala and reviewed the all Technical and officials requirements with the officers from Distribution wing and Transmission system, before it is dedicated to the people of Patiala. CMD discussed about the complete design, engineering, assembling, testing works, substation building, complete erection, testing, commissioning and putting into successful commercial operation of 66 KV substation.

Er.Baldev Singh Sran disclosed that this newly constructed Substation at Thapar University will be dedicated to the people of Patiala in a week’s time. CMD also disclosed that this sub station has been completed in record time. After the allocation of work in October 2018, the work was commenced in November 2018. The land for Substation was provided by Thapar University and the cost incurred on Substation will be shared between PSPCL and Thapar University on per MVA basis, thus making it the first project of this type.

He said that the commissioning of this Substation would ensure quality, uninterrupted supply and improved voltage to esteemed consumers of PSPCL in CM City, by de-loading of 220KV Ablowal Grid and 66kV Shakti Vihar Grids. Load of Thapar college would be shifted from Ablowal grid to this grid and supply of areas such as Maharaja Yadvindra Enclave, Nabha road, Pritam park, bazigar basti, prem Nagar, Sidhu colony, Manjit Nagar, Adarsh colony, North avenue, Shigligar Basti, Gurdeep colony, new century enclave, Ablowal, Kartar colony, Offices on Nabha road, Mini secretariat, Central Jail, Charan bagh, Punjabi bagh will be shifted on this Grid.

CMD also instructed TS engineers to complete the work of 66 KV at Sanauri Adda by the end of this month.
On this occasion senior officers from Distribution wing and Transmission system were also present on the occasion.
