Shri A.Venu Prasad IAS, Principal Secretary, Local Bodies Punjab and CMD, PSPCL & PSTCL has operationalized the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) project at Jalandhar here today.

CMD said that under SCADA, PSPCL is integrating its system for keeping a tab on power transmission right from the energy generating source till its transmission to the consumers and further the corporation will be taking help of geographical index survey (GIS) for allowing, monitoring and reporting the power transmission from the single integrated unit.

Shri A.Venu Prasad said that total 21 Nos. Grid Sub-Stations comprising 14 Nos. 66KV and 07 Nos. 132/220KV Sub Stations at and around Jalandhar will be covered under this project. He added that for all the 66KV Sub Stations, the data is available at SCADA Control Centre. He also added that around 23 Crores has been incurred on the integration of 14 Nos. Sub Stations.

He further added that the SCADA Control Centre is also being integrated with Customer Care and Billing System thereby making Distribution Management System (DMS) more effective. CMD said that same system is set up at Amritsar & Ludhiana and will be operationalized in the phased manner.

Er. N.K. Sharma, Director/Distribution, PSPCL informed that the implementation of SCADA/DMS in PSPCL is a milestone towards better supply quality to consumers and efficient Management Distribution System.
