11. Signing of Coal Transportation Agreement & Water Supply Agreement

 

Executed with Indian Railways on 11.12.2008.

 

Water Supply Agreement executed with Punjab Irrigation Department on 29.09.2001.

 

12. Status of obtaining required statutory clearances for establishing the project All the statutory clearances required for the project including P.P.C.B and MOEF approvals/consents have been obtained.

 

13. Land Acquisition & Site Development Plant – 1070 acres of land has been acquired.

Railway siding from Khadur Sahib to Project Site ? Application submitted for acquisition of land to the Principal Secretary-Irrigation and Power

River Water Pipeline ? Application submitted for acquisition of land

 

14. Details of orders placed for various equipments and present status

 

•  BTG & BOP Contracts have been signed.

•  TCE Consulting Engineers Ltd, Bengaluru have been appointed as Owner’s Engineers.

•  M/s. Siraj & Renu, Bengaluru have been identified for the Architectural consultancy work for plant, non-plant and colony buildings

•  Contract for site grading work awarded.

•  Contract for construction of compound wall has been awarded.

 

15. Present status of Project activity in details Site grading of Power island, water island and switchyard area have been completed.

BOP and BTG lay down areas have been handed over to EPC contractors.

 

Earth filling work is completed in major area.

Site office construction work is in progress.

Approx. Manpower of 505 people is working at site consisting of Engineers Executives of GVK, Punj Lyoud and workmen of EPC contractors and other contractors.

Compound wall

Compound wall of about 10.5 Km is almost completed.

BOP:

Initial testing work and Vibro-Compaction work is nearly complete in Boiler, Powerhouse and Cooling Tower -1 areas.

 

Site office inaugurated on 25.03.2010. Construction of workshop, lab, stores, Cement Godown, Labour colony, labour canteen and weigh bridge is in progress.

 

One 30 Cum capacity Batching Plant is in operation along with 4 transit mixers.

 

3000 MT Cement and 1855 MT Steel has been brought to site.

 

BTG :

 

First lot of Boiler structural steel received at site.

 

BHEL enabling contractor has commenced work and site office and stores construction is in progress.

 

Approx. 1000 MT BHEL material has been received at site.

 

16. Erection of Transmission Lines and Substation bays for Evacuation of Power Work of erection of Transmission Lines from the project to three nos. 220 KV Sub Stations at Khassa (Amritsar), Bottianwala (Ferozepur) and Sultanpur (Kapurthala) is being taken up by CE/TL. The work of construction of bays for three nos. D.C. Lines from the project to 220 KV Sub Stations for Evacuation of Power to the Grid is being taken up by CE/Sub Station.

 

17. Commissioning of the Project As per the schedule in the PPA, the first unit of this project will be commissioned within 36 months and the 2 nd unit within 42 months from financial closure of the project. As per the major Milestone Chart provided by the firm, the 1 st unit is scheduled for commercial operation on 31.01.2013 and 2 nd unit on 30.04.2013.
