Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has made adequate arrangements of Power to provide uninterrupted 8 hours power supply to its 13.75 lacs agriculture consumers in the state. This was disclosed by Sh. A. Venu Prasad, IAS Chairman cum Managing Director PSPCL .He assured that all consumers of the Punjab would be provided continued, uninterrupted and quality power supply.
He also said that in order to meet this maximum expected demand comfortably, PSPCL has tied up power from all sources in addition to its own in house generation capacity for the paddy season. The maximum demand on first day of the paddy season touched 9839 MW which was met with easily.
He said that daily Power supply to all AP consumers in the state has been divided into 3 groups at each sub station He also added that AP consumers of the PSPCL are being provided 8 hours power supply in day timings along with the international border of Punjab.
Sh. Prasad also informed that instructions have been issued to the officers/officials not to leave the headquarters during the paddy season.
He further added that control rooms have been established at the central and zonal levels to address the consumer complaints. The numbers are 96461-82959, 0183-2212425 for Border zone, Amritsar 9646116679, 01812220924 for North Zone, Jalandhar 9646146400, 01752301543 for South zone, Patiala 9646185267, 9646118039 for West zone, Bathinda 9646122070, 9646181129 for Central zone, Ludhiana and 9646106835, 9646106836 for centralized complaint centre at Patiala. In addition to these numbers consumers can also register their electricity related complaints through phone number 1912 which is operational for whole of the Punjab.
In case of any break down the farmers would be compensated by providing extra supply of power to that region/feeder.
