Shri Venu Prasad, IAS Principal Secy. Power Punjab Govt. and CMD PSPCL & PSTCL called upon to improve the quality of power supply to the consumers of Punjab to their satisfaction by providing continuous/reliable supply of power along with prompt redressal of their grievances. This was stressed by Shri A.Venu Prasad while presiding over a Technical Review Meeting with the officers of Central Zone Ludhiana and West Zone Bathinda was held here today.
Shri A.Venu Prasad also stressed upon to carry out the maintenance of the distribution network in a phased manner so as to minimize the power interruptions.
The CMD PSPCL also emphasized to release the new connections to the prospective consumers at the earliest. He also informed about the introduction of new means of e-payment of energy bills through Paytm app for the convenience of the consumers. Since Shri. A Venu Prasad IAS holds the charge of both PSPCL and PSTCL simultaneously; emphasis was also laid by him on proper cooperation and coordination between the officers of both the corporations in the larger interest of public service. He also stressed upon the need to observe punctuality and discipline amongst officers and staff towards improvement of customer service and to increase efficiency which is the need of hour.
At the same time, Er. K.L. Sharma Director Distribution highlighted the achievements of Central Zone PSPCL Ludhiana appreciating the Commercial parameters achieved by it and lauded the efforts of Engineers put in by them.
The meeting was also attended by Er. N.P.S Boparai, Chief Engineer Central Zone Ludhiana, Er. M.S Brar, Chief Engineer West Zone Bathinda, Er. Davinder Pal Sethi, Chief Engineer P&M PSTCL along with Deputy Chief Engineers and additional S.E./Senior Xen under their control.
In the mean while PSPCL has also informed that due to windstorm on Friday night there is widespread interruption of power supply due to snapping of transmission and distribution lines in the various parts of Punjab. PSPCL spokesman further informed that emergency teams of PSPCL are working vigorously to restore the system .PSPCL regretted the inconvenience to consumers due to inevitable situation.
